Choosing a pocket fountain pen
A pocket fountain pen should suit both the space you carry it in and the way you hold it. Capped length describes storage size; it does not tell you the usable writing length or how a pen balances in your hand. Check your pocket or sleeve dimensions and compare the weight with a pen you already enjoy.
Liberum Volucris is approximately 120 mm long when capped. Both finishes use vacuum filling for bottled fountain pen ink and an installed #6 stainless steel nib with a plastic feed. The available installed nib widths are Extra Fine, Fine, Medium and Broad.
Titanium or brass?
The titanium version weighs approximately 41.5 g in total and 28.4 g uncapped, with a green ink window. The brass version weighs approximately 66 g in total and 42 g uncapped, with a clear ink window. Brass develops a patina through handling. Choose according to the writing weight and finish you prefer; comfort depends on your grip and writing habits.
Nib choices and a separate extra unit
The optional additional ebonite-feed nib unit is supplied separately from the installed standard unit. Select None if you want the pen alone. The live product page shows the price for your chosen combination. A separately sold nib unit contains one unit and does not include a pen.
